You don’t make the line go away. You change the line to a Tool layer (T1 or T2).

If you absolutely need the line to go away, you have to select the text, right-click, Convert to Path. That makes it “not text” anymore, meaning it can no longer be re-typed, change the font, etc, but it will stay put and will no longer be attached to the path.

Changing the line to a tool layer is preferred because it means the text can easily be changed, but it’ll continue to follow the path specified, and you can even modify the path itself.

The T1 T2 will work for me. However, the real question is how do I get the text to take the shape of the curved line?

A bit of an oldie, but if you haven’t see our video on Text Along Path I would give it a watch: https://youtu.be/IDRx4-D1DWk?si=1AeFzN1jZK6eEiLR
