ABSOLUTLY FANTASTIC !
Great work !
Thanks Chuck.
I forgot to mention that everything is of course drawn/constructed in LightBurn. Material is 6mm and 3mm plywood, slightly sanded and wiped with leather grease. Outer dimensions of insert are 99mmx99mm which is exactly 1mm below the inner dimensions of the box itself. My kerf 0.075mm (is a tight fit) and secured with a few drops of superglue - will definitely last much longer than me.
Originally they are meant as a test objects for LightBurn because it “requires” many of the important functions of LB to construct them, but the little boxes became quite popular here, …especially around Christmas time ![]()
super nice video
I struggle with my acrylic picture cases getting the sides to line up with each sheet
of acrylic I cut
that extra .5mm adds up
KUDOS on a really really nice job… ![]()
There must be a magnet hidden underneath so no one can see it, creating the tight-looking effect.

Absolutely fantastic, the work and time required to fine-tune the machine so the work turns out like this!

Hi Luis, Thanks but I must admit that I haven’t done anything special to the machine or the cute little box ![]()
If (!) the material reasonably keeps its nominal size, then there is no need for magic or magnets.
But I am happy that this (my) laser has always been precise and well-functioning.
2-4 times a year, depending on the type of material and quantities I produce, I clean and lubricate the moving parts. I am always careful about my mirrors and lens alignment/cleanliness, - no more, no less.
From what I’ve read here on the forum, this is the recipe for success. Still, I think you were blessed if you didn’t spent a few days on fine-tuning adjustments to achieve that precision.!!! ![]()
The brand should give you a bonus for advertising!!! ![]()
I think so too! ![]()
But seriously, I don’t know if it’s pure luck or if the quality has improved over time. My first CO2 was a disaster, but everyone (I) knew it before I bought the no name K40. I had to redo the entire electrical installation and also spent a lot of time on the mechanicals. In the end, it was a very stable and precise machine. I learned a lot during the process and also liked to tinker.
But my OMT 60 Watt worked perfectly out of the box. Even the sockets on the back of this laser are correctly and securely mounted from the factory, that and the lack of grounding are otherwise often criticized. I have had nothing that didn’t work or needed to be replaced with my machine in the 4 years I’ve had it.
(This sounds like a comment from someone who never took the order out of the box.)

This is what I consider a very good deal!
I may payed more than average but in the end you have years of relax and enjoy.
On the other hand, having to perform maintenance on the previous ones brought knowledge about how they work.
