How is this happened?

Alcohol on laser-cut acrylic = instant stress cracking.

In some cases, you don’t even need alcohol.

If it’s not that, a few hints as to what you’ve done would be helpful, because otherwise it’s a guessing game from this end and you may not get many players.

Sorry. Not enough info.
This is protective “Atomstack” Window Lens Replacement for diode module.

Perhaps it got dirty, overheated, and cracked in that order. If you’re not running assist air to blow fumes away from the laser head, then that’s surely part of the problem.

Some of the Atomstack experts will surely have other ideas now that we have a few more words wrapped around it and I’ve yoinked it into the Atomstack zone.

This can have multiple reasons, the most common are:

  • dirt on the lens → you need to regularly clean it, depending on material, usage and settings, this can range from every 30 minutes to weeks
  • Strong temperature differences → make sure to keep the ambient temperature between 15 and 25 °C to avoid cracking the lens due to temp difference or moisture on it.

It’s very important to keep it clean, especially move the air assist pump outside of the enclosure, otherwise it will blow dirt on the lens which then burns in and cracks it.
