An old man asks for help when his own knowledge and language skills are not enough. How should I write a request to an AI bot to complete a photo for laser engraving with all settings for a 20 w diode laser on black slates.
I have only used AI to help me restore old photos and to help me with programming.
My experience is that the more detailed information I gave, the better the result.
AI has become so advanced that you can now continue on a conversation/project, i.e. you can add changes until you are satisfied with the result.
You just need to have one of your grandchildren show you how to start with the right robots and then it will go very fast by itself. ![]()
You can use the prompt below to tell ChatGPT to generate a prompt for you. It’s not perfect (none is), but it a) will produce good prompts you have to edit most of times and b) the generated prompts are a good starting point and help you to understand how to construct your own.
Yes, it may sound crazy to ask AI to tell you how to ask AI, but it works.

The actual problem is, that no AI can give the answer. Lasering is all about testing and experience. Settings that work for one user won’t work for the next. Even if AI would provide settings, you need to tune them most likely. So it’s better to learn the basics and then test until it works.
It’s somehow frustrating in the beginning, but for every perfect result you see here or on Facebook, ten times as many failures have been produced. That’s the way it is.
Hi, thanks.
You’re likely to spend as much time asking an AI for help (and having issues, and reasking) as you would simply asking the question here on the Forum or at Support@lightburnsoftware.com
I think the Forum would be faster and more accurate. They call it Artificial Intelligence for a reason.
