How to calculate the CFM needed for negative pressure

I wish I had figured this into my calculations early on. I figured the stock 6" fan with an inline 4" duct fan after the Carbon Filtration system would be plenty.

Here’s a very quick way to calculate the necessary CFM. Looks like I’ll be upgrading the 6" fan as well as the inline fan and filter.

Thanks for sharing. So did you enter the size of your “laser box” for the containment data? And what about the number of times per hour? Based on the defaults and using the size of my laser box it says I need 8 CFM which seems low/wrong???

I’m not sure of your cabinet size. Mine was accurate (or at least I’m sure). I went by the exterior size (not accounting for the volume of components inside). I want the cabinet clear in 10 minutes or less so I chose to keep the standard 12.

I’ve almost completely sealed my machine with only a little left to seal.
