How to convert the thickness of a letter automatically?

Good afternoon, greetings to all.

I would like to consult the experts to start my Neon Flex project.

I want to cut methacrylate to create a route lane where the Neon Flex strip should be positioned in the letters of the sign.

Is there any help in LightBurn to determine the inner width of the letters for all the letters in the project? I mean, if the Neon strip is 10mm wide, how can I make the thickness of the letters resize to 10mm automatically?

Thanks for your help.

You might be able to use the offset tool. If you could attach your LightBurn file we might be able to provide better help.

Thanks for your help.

I am still a novice user.

Here I’ve used the ‘Offset’ tool

to offset the outline by 1.175mm to give your desired 10mm width (9.96 actually so you might want to adjust it a bit.

Hope this helps.

Hello again.

Thanks Marcus, it’s a good idea, it hadn’t occurred to me to do it like that.

A new lesson learned.

Thank you.

You’re welcome, I’m pleased it worked for you. If you wouldn’t mind, could you mark my reply as the solution as it can help others that might have a similar question in the future.

Hello, I have been given several orders to make neonflex posters, and since not all fonts are symmetrical, or sometimes some figure, what I do is draw a central line, and to this single line I apply the thickness of the neonflex.

Of course. In any case, wouldn’t it be an idea to add a functionality in Lighburn so that rescaling could be done automatically, how can I request that the Lighburn team can study it?

Thank you for your answer, I have tried doing it with the “pen” option, but I am very clumsy with the use of that tool, I should practice more. I will continue testing it.

Thank you.
