I have figured how to attached nodes to a line. How do I get the handles to curve a line instead of sharp angles?
With the line selected in Node Edit Mode, just grab the line anywhere in the middle and drag it and the handles will magically appear. 
And just hover over a node and hit F1 and you’ll get help about editing nodes.
