How to cut only the background?

So im making a christmas ornament. I used inkscape to create the vector paths to cut, but i want to only cut AROUND the vectors and not cut the actual vectors (cut out the letters and snowflakes- itll make more sense in the pic). Is there any way to do this? Test snowflake ornament

Just tried this. When I remove fill, it removes all the words and snowflakes. How do i get the outline on them like you have? Thanks!

Figured it out. Had to use stroke paint to make the outlines

I would just copy/paste to LB, trace image, set my cut power, and run it.
