How to cut out a circle without lan egde?

I am trying to make a slate coaster with a specific snip of a google maps location. I have seen tutorials where I could set the circle size and drag it over the image to cut out the excess. I am lost on how to do this without leaving the circle itself. I want just the roads and landmarks.

I do not want the edge to form a circle because it leaves no room for error if I am off by a small bit. I uploaded the lb file and a snip of what I mean that I do not want.

  1. Select map
  2. Add circle to selection
  3. Tools->Cut Shapes

However, in either case you likely want to burn beyond the boundary of the coaster so not sure if it will make a significant difference.

Thanks, not sure why the option is grey-ed out for me. ill keep trying. thanks!

Are you following the steps exactly and in order?

I think so…

Clicked on map (it is traced btw). Added ellipse from left tool bar over where I want to cut. Cut shape is grey. Is it because it is a drawing, not an image?

Are you working from the same file that you uploaded? There is already a circle in place.

Must have been the way I was clicking. Thanks, worked.
