I am unable to delete a missing file from a Material Library. When I click delete it pops up with the standard missing library text then asks if I want to “Unlink the Library” I click yes and nothing happens. The file link remains.
I have tried. Restarting Lightburn, replacing the file by loading the same file from the correct directory and nothing seems to work. It will not allow me to even load the same file back to the library dropdown. I follow the steps, it looks like it works but I just have the (File Missing) version.
I am using LightBurn v1.7.08 I’m considering jumping to the 2.0RC but not even sure that will fix it.
If you try to select the library again, you should see the ‘library failed to load’ message again, if you ‘Unlink Library’ again - you should see an option to ‘remove it from the list’:
Thank you, that is exactly what I have done and nothing happened. The library still is “missing” and now when I click it I get the top message and when I click “Unlink Library” it goes straight to the LB interface and nothing nothing changed. So I am stuck
Try this at your own risk. Go to File Menu> Preferences> Open Prefs Folder then close Lightburn. Open prefs.ini in a text editor and search for the materiallibraries entry. Delete the missing library and save the file. Restart Lightburn.
Thanks for the suggestion Tim, I gave that a shot and you must have to remove it from many other places as well. When you remove just that one line, LB opens up fresh out of the box. No lasers, no Material, No license etc. I saved the old one first and reverted back and it is back to the missing library.
But I appreciate the suggestion none the less!!

I had to remove all of the lasers themselves then that library disappeared on its own. All is good the “missing” is now gone for good.
Thank you both!
