How to enable homing cycle in Grill settings? Error code 5

Hello! I am a newb at using my Atomstack A5 Pro laser. I have no clue how to use/write/read Grbl…at all.
Since updating the Lightburn software,(1.5), I am having a lot of issue with my laser position. I am trying to get it to “home” and I keep getting
“Homing cycle is not enabled in your Grbl settings. error:5”.
Is there an easy way to fix this? I have tried looking at a few videos but none of them deal specifically with the issue I am having.
I also have no clue if I have limit switches, or not. :face_with_peeking_eye: Something I had noticed others talking about.
Also not sure if it matters but I am using macOS Monterey version 12.7.3.
Can someone direct me to a video or give me a list of step by step instructions to help fix this issue?
Thanks in advance!

Here is the information from the console

Everything was working before update?

Thank you! I will try this as soon as I can.

Yes. I haven’t used the laser since December, and definitely wasn’t having any issues with the homing position or having it return to home position before or after completing a project. It also went to the correct position when cutting/burning a project. I have only completed about 6 projects with it in the past so I’m not very familiar with it, just kind of did a plug and play.
Since the update though it keeps bouncing off the rails/vibrating, and isn’t going to the point where the project is on my screen. So, say I place the object to be made in the center of my screen in LightBurn, select the item on the screen, hit start, and the machine will send the gantry to the bottom left corner and just bounce of the rails. If I move the object to the upper quadrant of the screen, either side, the gantry will go to about center point and then shoot to the far left or right (depending on quadrant, and will be out of bounds for my cutting area or bounce of the rails.
Also, for my projects, to line them up consistently, I use a piece of brown paper and laser an outline shape to have exact placement for my material pieces. I do this, then put in my cut/burn image into the same outline shape in lightburn, click the image to burn, place my material on top of the paper, go to burn my image, and the image is sent to an entirely different point to burn (like the lower corner of the mat).

I would go to file> load pref. backup and choose one before your update.

I don’t think the A5 has limit switches. So you can’t use the homing function. And don’t enable this in settings, it will crash into the frame then.

Make sure you enabled “current position” in start from (laser window).

I recommend this article for some basic knowledge: Coordinate systems & workpiece alignment - Diode Laser Wiki
