How to engrave golden color on Black Birch wood?

i came across a product where the birch wood was black colored but the engraved area was golden in color. how to achieve that?

The laser did not produce the color. You could

  • paint the engraving (fill the paint into the engraved area)
  • paint the wood afterward (only paint the upper surface)
    or
  • put a layer of golden color below a layer of black color and only remove the upper layer.
