i have a jewlery business, i engrave on golden stainless steel but ive yet to reach the quality that im aiming for. can anybody help me?
I’m using commarker b4 20w, normally i pass the photo through photoshop to remove the dark areas.
the parameters i use are:
50mm/s
12% power
0.04 dpi
20Hz frequency
and 0.02 dot width adjustment
these are the best settings so far that i tried

Hi
I dont use that make of machine and I haven’t done metal yet, but 0.04dpi…Thats 0.04 dots per inch!!
12% power at 50mm per second..I wouldnt expect to see much at that rate of speed.
I use a 20w diode on wood so I could be wrong.

golden stainless steel
I can imagine, but don’t even know what the golden variety of stainless steel is..
Which is what? An example photo of what you want to do, and what you’re getting would help.
The interval is what we usually use, but it’s a rather simple conversion to dpi. 0.10mm interval is (25.4 in/mm ÷ 0.1mm) gives us 254dpi.
What lens are you using? Most range in the F100mm to about F420mm. Each has an associate spot size.
Can you post what you got so far?
