How to figure LPI & DPI

I have been having difficulty figuring out LPI & the DPI I have watched videos and tried different numbers but am still having problems of figuring it out Any help would be appreciated.

They are the same for all practical purposes. Many of us refer to this as the interval, usually expressed in mm. Change either in Lightburn and the other will be adjusted.

I suggest you watch this video on photo engraving… probably one of the best as a guide to selecting the proper lpi/dpi or interval. Although done on a fiber laser, it’s applicable to any laser with any material… Photo engraving is very similar to the fill operation.
