Hello. I would like to buy the license for Lightburn version Linux (Debian 12). How should I proceed?
When I launched the software last time, I was redirected to a window that allows me to order a license. But there is no indication regarding the Linux license.
Thank you.
The Linux version of LB unfortunately stopped with version 1.7.08. This last version works fine and has also managed to get most of the new tools, but it is no longer supported.
I myself and some of other people here are running this version, specifically for driving the laser itself in the workshop.
To find that version, you have to go and look in “older versions” in the LightBurn download folder.
P.S. officially only Ubuntu Linux is (was) supported, but you can try it freely and see if it works for you.
For the record, we’ll continue to support Linux (and all) users indefinitely as Support - but we’re no longer producing Linux builds of LightBurn.
I used the wrong terminology, my mistake.
What I meant and wanted to say, no more updates and no more new features for Linux. If people can still get help to get LB working well on their Linux computers, that’s just fine.
Hello and thank you for your answers.
But my question is whether there is a specific license for OS: Windows, Mac, Linux. I have not seen anything in this regard on your pages and I suppose that the license is valid for the different OS versions of your software.
Thank you.
There is no difference between the OS versions of LightBurn in terms of price. The difference is in the “machine” versions. On the LightBurn homepage there is a good explanation to be found. -
Which version do I need?
LightBurn supports three types of laser controller: GCode, DSP, and Galvo. All three types are supported by the trial version of LightBurn.
You can license LightBurn Core to run GCode lasers or LightBurn Pro to run all types of laser.
Also note that you have 3 seats and can use them across OS, I have Windows, Linux and MacOS LB versions on different computers at the same time.
