How to get darkest finish when using "Fill" mode

Hi All, Does anyone know a trick to getting the darkest, blackish finish when using FILL. I have Air Assist and think the lighter color is a result of the soot and char being blown away. Am I wrong, and if so, what can I try to achieve a dark end result.

Turn off Air Assist and use crosshatch which is a switch inside the layer parameter window.

thank you sir.

Let us know how it works out for you. If you have your spacing at 0.1mm set it for 0.2mm since you’ll be going over it twice essentially. It’ll take about the same time.

You don’t say if you are imaging wood, but it sounds like it since you mention char. If it is wood, you can try 2 methods: borax powder mixed with water or baking soda mixed with water. Both methods generally mix a table spoon of powder with 16 ounces of water and sprayed on the wood. Let the mixture dry, then image with the laser. Make some tests to see if either method gives your desired results.
