How to I rotate an object without it changing sizes?

Hi: How do I rotate an object without it changing size. I have an image that I Flip horizontally and want to rotate it to fit into my material size. Every time I select and then use the handles to rotate it changes the object’s size. How do I rotate without any size change? Stumped. Thanks.

Can you show a screenshot to help us visualise what you’re seeing ?

I can, but I don’t think a screenshot help. A video would. I took an SVG shape, duplicated it, flipped it horizontally, and then wanted to rotate the flipped image to tighten up the spacing for cutting. ( having two images on one 12/x12 material. )When I highlight it and use the move and rotate piece function it changes size when rotating. I ended up just cutting one at a time and rotating the material to make sure they both fit on there. They were vectors of a owl so it wasn’t a square shape I was dealing with.

Measurements are horizontal and vertical so it will change sizes.
Use this in 90 degree increments and see if the works.

Good suggestion, however I don’t think this is going to work in this case.

If they are grouped, ungroup first.

Tried it grouped and ungrouped

It is probably not changing the actual size, only the horizontal, vertical size.

Maybe. But it looks larger and when I select it and it shows size it’s bigger. I’m perplexed. I’ll rotate it and cut it out on a piece of cardboard then compare sizes. Maybe you’re right. Hope so. Thanks for your input and help.

Picture it this way.
If you draw a box the size of your bed, it will burn no problem.
Rotate it 45 degrees and it will not fit even tho the size of the box never changed. Just the horizontal and vertical size.

Gotcha. Brain cells not firing all the way today. Just cut it out in cardboard and it’s the same size. Another day of Lightburn University. ( or in this case math). Again thanks for the insight. Appreciated.

No problem.
