How to improve cut on KentokTool LE400Pro?

I’ve setup a KentokTool LE400Pro, and I’ve gotten it to work with Lightburn.

However, the laser output isn’t matching what’s in the manual.

It came with some 0.5mm cardstock, so I tested cutting some shapes at 80% and 100mm speed, and it didn’t completely cut through. I did tests at 20% and 40% power, and the results looked exactly the same as 80% power.

The manual says that for paper, 80% power at 1000mm should be more than enough to cut though solid wood, so I’d imagine much thinner cardstock should be even easier.

I had to do 3 passes to finally get it to mostly cut though, but there were still a lot of small thin fibers stretching across the cut, keeping the shapes held in place. Is this normal?

I followed Kentoktool’s instructions on configuring Lightburn, so it’s using all their default settings. Why does the output not match their manual? Is there anything I can do to improve cutting power?

Usually the cause is it’s not focused properly…

You need to do a ramp test and ensure the focus is where the factory says it is.

Did you follow the basic setup for the $30 values and the associate with S-Value Max in the device settings?

Good luck
