How to make line of dots

Hello experts out there.
I want to make a line of dots with an exact distance of 4mm between the dots.
How do I do that?

You can try whether “Perforation Mode” can give you the desired result.

…or “Dot Mode”

Create one dot. Use the array tool.

In Perforation Mode, I can only see the dots in the preview. Not on the workspace in Lightburn.
I don’t have dot mode in Advanced. How do I make it visible?
I have Lightburn 1.7.08

If it is not visible to you, it is probably a controller dependent function (DSP)

Once you can determine the distance between dots it shouldn’t be a problem, try testing it on a scrap piece or cardboard.

If it’s a filled circle, you should use Tim’s suggestion.

I think Dot Mode is not available for Diode lasers.

Quick Reference: Distribute and Move Together

Seperates objects evenly or abuts them together.

Location

Arrange Toolbar

Arrange → Distribute

Would this do it!

I’m only using the phone right now so can’t check the software, but could you also choose the dot size using the font size selection and then distribute.

You’re probably right about this.

Probably not, because there’s no good way to specify the exact separation:

Perhaps fiddling with the exact length & number of objects would be close, but a linear array gives more control.

I can use Perforation Mode and I’ll go with this. :slightly_smiling_face:
