I am trying to access font glyphs but can not figure it out. I am running windows.

LightBurn does not currently provide direct access to the extended font glyphs. You will need to create your art using these font glyphs outside LightBurn, then import the results for setting up for this job.
So I would need something like Affinity Designer or AI then?
You have many options, including these mentioned, yes. Notepad (Windows) and TextEdit (macOS), the native basic editors included with these Operating Systems support many extended font glyphs. You have options.
