I am getting alarm codes 3 and 8

Trying to troubleshoot something else, I believe I changed settings that resulted in getting these alarm messages. When i select frame from the home front-left position, the laser goes all the way right and stops.

ALARM:8
Homing fail. Cycle failed to clear limit switch when pulling off. Try increasing pull-off setting or check wiring.
ALARM:3
Reset while in motion. Grbl cannot guarantee position. Lost steps are likely. Re-homing is highly recommended.

You did make a copy of the GRBL parameters before changing them, right?

The fix will have to be in this order:

  1. Home cycle.
  2. Jog direction.

Home Cycle:

  1. Where are the limit switches?
  2. When you Home from the center of the workspace, does it travel towards the switches?

Jog direction:

  1. Does the Xaxis travel left and right as indicated by the arrows?
  2. Does the Yaxis travel front and back as indicated by the arrows?

Was the machine working properly before you decided to tune it up? What issue were you trying to solve when you started changing parameters?

You may be able to recover settings by File>Preferences>load preferences backup from before you did the changes.
