This is my first post, so be kind. I am the curator of a museum. I have a Boss Laser 1416. I am making simple badges/labels for the artifacts in the museum. I am using black on white .125 acrylic. I have tried a variety of speed and power setting but I can’t seem to find the right combination for the white lettering to be clear and bright. I have tried cleaning with Dawn and other cleaners, but still there is slight black residue that dulls the lettering. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What kind of power does this machine have? DC excited?
It’s nice to have a good photo. Much of the recommendations we suggest are based on what we can see.
Is the material 1/2 and 1/2 - color wise or is the black layer thinner?
What kinds of speed/power/interval are you running - with/without air assist?
What you’re doing is relatively delicate, if I picture it correctly… without seeing what you’re doing and your results it’s much more difficult…
