I have a multilayer Lightburn project that won't let me weld layers

I have a logo I am trying to get to burn on my xtools d1 pro 10w. Everything is great to this point…I have been able to merge and arrange the multiple layers to get everything perfect…but I have a line of text that I am trying to weld to a part of the banner…and it won’t give me the option. I have tried multi-selecting every version I can, but I am stuck.

This is for a gift to the school, so not making money, no copywrite issues. I just need the text in the middle “Praestantia Per Scientiam” to not burn, and the blue banner behind it to etch as the rest does.

Thank you for any suggestions. This is a test burn…as you can see, the banner text is burnt in…I want it to be left unengraved as the rest of the non-black etched areas.

If you change the layer for the text in the middle to be the same as the blue banner then it wont burn.
