I have tried everything two days latter about to just throw it in the trash. I’m so stressed out. I have a Mac and ok I got light burn down loaded and it’s open. But when I try to connect the laser printer to my comp nothing came up. I watched 20 YouTube videos and ahhhh help idk if I linked it correctly I need a computer person because at this point idk what to do. All the crap they have posted does nothing none of the videos are helping me. Can’t talk to no one about to just cry how stressed I am.
I suggest you detach yourself from the problem solving process as otherwise you’ll see any negative results as a personal failing.
A systematic approach will hopefully isolate the problem issue.
From what I can see the Befon Pro A5 that you listed in your profile looks to be a clone of the Atomstack A5 Pro with the possible exception that there’s no power switch or it’s been relocated. There’s a lot on this forum with regard to the Atomstack A5 Pro so could be a good future resource.
Can you help with the following? Please address every question or indicate the complication if you cannot.
- What Mac and version of MacOS are you using?
- Is the laser connected directly via USB to the Mac or do you have a hub or something else in between?
Please provide the following:
- With the laser connected and powered on, take a screenshot from MacOS System Report->Hardware->USB. I’m looking to see that the laser is being detected by the OS. It’s possible that you may need a driver but let’s confirm.
- Can you open a Terminal in MacOS and run the following command? Please return results.
ls -l /dev/*.wch*
- Have you configured anything in LightBurn? If so, can you take a full screenshot of LightBurn?
Using Mac 12.0.1
I am using a usb straight to the device and as I am comp stupid I don’t know if posting Photos of my hardware information is good or bad I don’t know if that can allow access in my computer I don’t know so I don’t know if I wanna post that I know sounds stupid
Also the only thing I did was everything in the video tutorial other than that I have done nothing
Is their anyone is the USA I can talk with or video with for help ?
The particular information being asked for would not be a security concern but it’s no longer necessary as you clearly have some communication to the laser based on the photos.
Can you provide the following:
- Push “Devices” button in Laser window. Then click once on the name of your laser. Take a screenshot using your computer’s built-in screenshot tool (rather than a photo). This will make it easier to see. Upload here.
- Take a screenshot of Edit->Device Settings
I’m not sure how formal support works but I don’t think they take calls. You can reach email support at support@lightburnsoftware.com
I don’t have this connected to my computer and even if I did I have never taken pic off my computer lol. The devices I have connected I did manually but I’m also running out of time because if I can not get this to work I need to return it. I have tried and tried but it’s not reading the laser if I search for it to connect and find my laser nothing shows up
The only way I can make this statement make sense is if you’re talking about connecting the computer to this forum? Because you clearly have LightBurn on your computer and your laser is connected to the computer.
Do you also have a smoothieware laser? Why are there 2 devices listed? If you do not have smoothieware, can you delete that entry?
This is okay. Based on your previous screens I can see that you’re getting basic communication.
It looks like you did not click on the name of your laser once before taking the photo. Can you click on the name of the laser just one time and then take the photo?
Also, please go to Edit->Device Settings and take a screenshot. If you can only take a photo that’s fine but please make sure the entire screen is visible.
Also, please take a screenshot of the primary LightBurn screen making sure the Laser window is currently selected.
Idk if the printer is correct that off the videos
No, this wouldn’t be the right device. Please go to Devices. Then select the device listed as “Smoothieware” and then push the Remove button.
Then click on the device named “Atomstack A5” once. Please take a screenshot.
Then go to Edit->Device Settings in the Menu bar. Take a screenshot.
I renamed that I put that on there that is a gerbl one that’s not the right name
There is no laser choice for that name at all
You don’t need to create a new device (at least not yet).
Please follow carefully.
-
In Devices window simply click once onto the name “Atomstack A5”. It looks like it’s the only one now listed. Do not hit other buttons. Then take a screenshot.
-
Separate from that. Go back to main LightBurn window. In the Edit Menu there should be a selection for “Device Settings”. Go there. Then take a screenshot.
Post here please.
