i recently received a new to me Laser which has a Lightburn USB camera already installed from the previous owner. How do i identify which camera it is so i can calibrate it to the correct model?
I have tried to figure it out myself without being able to determine it correctly. However, you do not need to know the name/angle/resolution for the actual use, Start camera calibration and select LB camera, then you can see the resolution in the description field. In the camera preview window in LB, on the right side, you get the image that is “unprocessed”, i.e. you can judge whether your work area is covered correctly. If your camera is mounted stably and covers what it should, you just start with lens calibration and the subsequent workplace alignment.
Without having the purchase invoice, it’s very hard to tell - I’d suggest just running through the camera lens calibration process rather than using a preset - this has the added benefit of tuning the lens for your sepecific lens which is more accurate than the pre-calibrated lens settings.
In LightBurn, just select the camera from the USB Device dropdown when adding it:
- Go to Cameras tab → Add Camera
- Choose USB
- In USB Device, select the LB Camera camera that appears in the list
- Continue to the calibration screen to run the lens calibration and workspace alignment
got it, thank you
