I have an Omtech K40+ and installed a 8MP camera mounted on the center of the lid. I’m trying to complete the camera calibration again as I just received my replacement K40+ but I’m running into some issues. I completed the lens calibration on the 1st K40+ with no issues. I laser engraved the target image, but I was unable to complete the camera alignment due to issues with the original laser. I have now received my replacement K40+ and trying to calibrate the camera. I ran into a few snags with the lens calibration as the scores were WAY over the .50 ideal score with some being scored in the hundreds, lol. Regardless if I choose standard or fisheye, the camera view looks the same. I checked and unchecked both standard/ fisheye and with and without the honeycomb bed which didn’t seem to make a difference on the output of the image and/ or scores. I stopped several times during both the lens and alignment calibration to double check my Lightburn settings, device settings, closed and reopened Lightburn, checked Windows camera privacy settings etc. I finally made it through the lens calibration but not with the optimal scores under .50 as I had prior on the original K40+, but went ahead and moved onto the Camera Alignment Wizard. I’m unable to move forward with the camera alignment as I’m unable to print the target image. When I try engraving the target image, the laser only engraves the number 1 and circle images for that number only as it does not engrave the #2, 3 and 4 along with the images around them. I have made several attempts and getting very discouraged. I’m confused as to what I’m doing wrong as everything seems to be exactly the same as I did with the original K40+ machine. I followed all the steps as per the Lightburn camera lens and alignment instructions and videos. I don’t understand why my laser is not engraving the target image. I’ve searched online and this forum with no luck. It just doesn’t make any sense to me as to why my laser isn’t engraving the target image, so confusing. All troubleshooting info I’ve seen on camera alignment revolves around lining up the images etc, which doesn’t help me as I can’t even get the image to print. I’m hoping its an easy fix and a silly overlooked mistake I’m just not seeing. Please help! I’m running Lightburn on an HP laptop and the camera is plugged directly into the computers USB 3.0 port.
What exactly happens when you attempt this? After the #1 is engraved, is the machine erroring or what occurs? Is the #1 burning at the expected location on your material?
Before burning, what does Preview show?
Outside of the camera, is your machine and LightBurn otherwise behaving normally?
When I attempt to print the target image, the laser moves to the correct position and seems to be engraving the #2 and items, then once finished it moves to #1 and engraves all items and in the correct position. Then it proceeds to engrave the following numbers also in their correct positions as in the image on the computer screen, however, nothing actually is engraved but the #1 items. The laser seems to work properly with all other engraving, but just wont engrave the target image which has me baffled. I didn’t see an option to preview the target image in the camera alignment wizard, but will check it out. Hopefully we can get this figured out so that I can begin using all features of the camera. Thanks!
I misremembered the Alignment dialogue. You won’t find a Preview there. Can you confirm that you used the Frame function to confirm that the image fit into your work area?
Can you take a screenshot of the dialogue before pressing the Run/Play button?
During the period that the laser is attempting to engrave the non-working portions of the machine, is the laser actually firing?
Also, is there any marking at all or it’s entirely blank in those areas?
In regular use, are you able to laser across the entire area of the bed?
