Hello laser junkies. I’m having an issue with my D1 pro 10w laser. I’ve been trying to engrave pictures on canvas panels, u use imag-r to prep these projects and then import to lightburn. When I start the job, my laser starts freaking out to say the least. It goes through the motions, but immediately starts to skip and jump, making all kinds of weird noises like the belt is skipping ( I’ve checked that out and cleaned everything). It almost seems like a programming issue. Maybe imag-r to lightburn issue ? It does it for awhile. Then quits, then all of a sudden it come back butt usually the second time it just shuts the laser down and starts screaming at me. No warning come up. Nothing. Anyone had this issue before? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks people.
I tried to include vid but not accepted.

That is a good idea. I will do that for sure. Thanks.
What are your settings?
My settings for this one particular job is
Speed 100mm/sec
Max power 25 %
Pass through on
Dpi 254
Air assist off
Optimize cut path on
I am attempting to engrave a 5x7 canvas with a pic of my granddaughter on it.
I have prepared image through imag-r. Using Norton tile white painted black.
I have found that it does not matter what speed I use it does the same thing. Whether I use 300 mm/s or 75 mm/s
Wondering if it isn’t a communication issue between imagr and light burn.
not related. All imagR does is photo manipulation and dithering.
You lost me here… is this on canvas or a tile painted black?
Something else is going on…
Sorry for confusion. I’m doing a canvas 5x7. Imagr setting on Norton white tile painted black.
The image created by imagR is probably different for white tile.
Is your machine setup for mm/s?
If so that’s kind of fast, most are mm/m… 300mm/s is 18000mm/m and 75mm/s is 4500mm/m… both seem kind of fast to me for an led laser.
There is also a ‘speed limit’ built into most controllers that will limit the upper end speed.
It’s likely that you have a grbl controller… a dsp is like a Ruida…
Thank you for the info. I played around with speed and made a huge difference. It still does studded a bit at the very start of job but it doesn’t effect the burn so I will consider that a win.
Thanks again
Studder. Lol
