Problem solved. The newest Marlin Firmware called " Mirisoc" doesn’t communicate well with light burn. I rolled my firmware back to Marlin v2.0.1 and all is well. The downside is 2.0.1 will not talk to my computer through a USB cable, so I have to send file to SD card then print. A small inconvenience for great looking burns. Thank you so much for your time and support.
To me it can be 3 things:
- The type of wood. I have had a hard time getting RED Oak to engrave consistent. I can tell what type of wood that is…looks like Zebra wood maybe?
- Your mirrors and alignment is off.
- You are engraving with either too much power and fast speed or lower power and slow speed. I would run a test card to see what is the best.
