Are there any reported issues with latest firmware 1.7.08?
Previous software version etched images consistently well, but since installing the new version, I’ve seen bottom edges of images compressed/cut off, and additional laser artifacts not visible in original graphic files. Old graphics that etched perfectly with earlier version firmware are displaying these issues, so it appears the only change is the firmware upgrade.
Roll back to the last version you used to see if the problem still exists.

This looks more like a mechanical problem than a software problem.
In any case, to rule out a software problem, follow the instructions given from @soniclab.
I’m not certain what my previous release was, but certainly a few versions back - I reinstalled 1.7.03 and the same issue replicates, so it would not appear to be a software issue.
‘Kuth’ - you mention a possible mechanical problem… something in the laser head that’s not picking up the correct coordinates or adding artifacts? I know that “stuff breaks”, but is it a common thing (and perhaps it’s the Creality laser head)?
Not picking the correct coords due to loose belts, lost steps. Right now I have to go but search [here] (Job Results & Quality Issues - LightBurn Documentation) for some help.
Hi Luis - you nailed it… y-axis drive belt had gotten very loose; once tension was restored, laser head works as expected.
Rookie mistake! Thanks for the assistance!
Thanks for the feedback!
I’m glad I could help!
