On the left is the vector, right is just a change from line to fill.

Thank you. I am not sure exactly what we are going to do about this one yet. Thank you for the help.

You have to help us help you. There are lots of people here to help.

I don’t do much with led type lasers so I’m only useful with the effects of the laser on the materials using diodes.

I found out what is happening when I am measuring the images. My question is what am I missing here? Has something changed or is there something I am just not understanding here. There is a difference between the Image size and the selection box that is around the image when I select the image. Is it the file type I am choosing when I removed the background? What is the best file type for this specific type of design image I am working with right now because I have close to 20 more to do. Thank you for the help.

Well I thought I could upload a screen recording but I guess that is not allowed because it is only letting me upload a picture.

You can only upload certain file types and then there is a 4mb limit on size.

You can put the file on a public entity such as google drive and post a link here.

Make sure you set the protection level to allow anyone with the link to have access.

Thank you for that description and solution.

Forget something?

Did it not post the link? I see it on my end.

In fact, I use Gimp or something else and surprise, if I zoom in, in 95% of cases I see that white is never white and black is never black, so I systematically retouch all my photos and it changes the situation enormously. I remove at least 90% of the parasitic pixels in the images. Use Sir Gimp, the selection by color option for example… the dpi is very important also my machine takes the 317 dpi spot of 0.08x0.08 (machine chosen because square spot), I never engrave an image that does not have a minimum hd resolution!! imagr and lightburn filters lose resolution, the laser too and the support even more. For wood, I use a pore filler which greatly improves the precision by filling the hollows.. I do not give technical details on the depth and the composition of the pores of the wood… good engraving

I signed in and checked and it says that there are no restrictions on this file. I am nor sure that it is anything on my end.

This is a link to one of my video files. It shows the file name…

Yours shows the google drive sign in.

If it’s in a sub directory, all the directories to the file has to have permissions also.

:smiley_cat:

I give up. I opened the video and went into the settings and turned off the lock/restrictions and shared that link and it still is showing the sign in. I will look for another way. Thank you for the help. At this point I am spending to much time trying to share the link. Thanks again.

Yes, I got the video OK… It’s strange, it goes to the Google login, then shows the video…

If I have an image that’s 10x10 and I remove part of the back ground… this background is only bytes the specify the picture content. There is really no way to have a file like you have and part of it be non-existent. This is life with computers.

Suggest you watch this video on masking and I think it’ll solve your problem.

If you have issues, sing out.

Thank you for sharing that with me. I didn’t use any of that. I didn’t know about using mask. The image I had to begin with had a background like paneling that I did not want so I ran it through a background remover. The issue is that when I brought it in to LB it has a selection box that is a lot wider and taller than the image. Maybe since they added these new tools it changes the way it used to be. I was away from it for a couple of years. I drew the box around the image and put it on a tool layer so it would just be in the background. I used that to get the true size and it actually made it so that I could do the engraving. Hopefully I will not encounter it again but if I do I at least came up with a way to get around the problem. I appreciate all your help in trying to come up with a solution. I will just click solved.

You have to remember that image files contain an arrangement of pixels. If the pixels donate no background, the data is still there and Lightburn sees it as part of the image.

Good luck.
