Image mode issues

I use grayscale image mode to engrave photo on stainless steel. But when I try Jarvis, Atkinson etc engraves like the image is a negative image whether I switch on or off negative image switch on the adjust image menu the result is always negative engraved all color tones are reversed.
Does anyone know why is this happening and what do I do wrong or missing?

Thanks

Could you post your separate project .lbrn2 files?
One grayscale one Jarvis one Atkinson, with negative on and off.

pls find the zip file link down below

I didn´t “print” your files but they are ok with Lightburn 1.7.03.
.

Jarvis neg off

.
The following ones the output is the same, only change is the preview window.
Jarvis neg on + preview invert on

Jarvis neg on + preview invert off

.
To make things clear are you just turning off Invert in the preview window or negative
here
or here?
The machine you´re using is the fiber or the diode?
.
Please note that if you turn Negative Image to On do a preview and then revert Negative Image to Off, if you do a preview now to the “unchanged”(positive image) the preview is negated (the inverted toggle is on maybe a bug or intended) however the output is correct (positive).

Thanks for respond in details. I have 30 watt fiber and I will definetely try your recommendations. I like jarvis and the print result is awesome visually but I had this issue.
I only switch on or off the negative image switch, not the invert switch on preview window. Because I also engrave black aluminium business cards. Also another issue with jarvis for this material. Brightest areas are printed like they are pitch black. I tried several times with V 1.6
