I am having issues with the sizing. I have the image correctly on lightburn but when I frame it to make sure it covers the project correctly it frames it stretched out and rectangular instead of squared off. In need of some guidance. I have done the windows reset to default multiple times but no progress.
Why don’t you try to do the job on a scrap piece of material. You may see why it is doing this. Usually, LightBurn only frames what is shown, you might find something outside the square you are talking about.
Hi Waleska,
If you’re referring to the ‘Window > Reset to Default Layout’ - this is only for the UI elements of LightBurn, it does not affect the cuts.
From your profile I see you’re using a laser by this manufacturer - so a Diode laser: https://www.amazon.com/Engraver-SMERNIT-Accuracy-Engraving-Touchscreen/dp/B0BGGKMHDW
If you run a line layer 20mm x 20mm square (or any known size) at a low power, just to trace some lines on paper - does the output match what is created?
I have on several scrap materials and it comes out long in height even though i have the dimension for a square image set
That is the exact one and no it does not match what was created
Do you happen to have Enable Rotary turned on? This can cause the axis scaling to be adjusted (for the rotary). You can check by going to ‘Laser Tools > Rotary Setup’ in the top menu - look for the ‘Rotary Enabled’ switch
This is what it shows i went ahead and enabled it like you mentioned I will try another image and see if that works
Please also share the following screenshot. Click the ‘Spanner / Screwdriver’ icon near the top-center to expose the ‘Device Settings’ page.
