Imperial Units for measurement / Metric for speeds/Feeds

OK - American here who won’t let go fully of our Inches… Often when designing various things I find it more convenient to work in Imperial Units - so I’ll change the settings over to Imperial - Inches/Sec etc… but my referernces on the laser power settings are in metric and I’m more comfortable and used to looking at that in mm/sec - so off off to the settings to change it over - its a constant toggle back and forth…

Is there a setting I’ve missed which would allow design measurements to be done in Imperial, but then laser power/speed settings to be in metric?

thanks…

Button on the toolbar: Push it as many times as you want to… it’s free

Use the bottom selection, depending on Diode or C02.

Tim - this is how I have been toggling it - its fairly cumbersome.

The “MM” button on the toolbar mentioned by Jim will certainly be simplier - still requires intervention but a few less clicks to get the job done.

What is cumbersome? You set it to “inches / mm/min” and never touch it again. Your measurements are then in inches and your speeds are in mm/min.

Edit: Now, if you want to change your measurements back and forth, use the button Jim showed.

ahh - I see what you are saying - I misread / misunderstood the inches / mm/sec setting… I think in my head I saw that as an old version of LB layout with in/min and glossed over the whole right side which is diode centric..

I will change it to inches / mm/sec and hopefully that’s the behavior I’m hoping for… I figured there was some tickbox somewhere that would do it - seems to be one for everything in LB once you find it

Even better, I leave it in mm, but enter 11.95" in the Width/Height boxes for setting my 12"x12" ply boards as a Tool layer. I’m an inches guy too.

Unfortunately using that notation doesn’t work for the speed value.

Probably because distance is a measurement (units) and speed is a velocity (units over time).
