Imported graphic (converted photo) from Photograv, issue. (Newbie)

1st time doing this.

I cleaned up and converted a photo in Photograv yesterday, it looks fantastic. I brought it into Lightburn and did a test burn into a piece of wood. I did not change a thing other than unplug my PiBurn and plug in my Y axis.

When I burned the photo it was squashed down to about 1/3 of its normal size. the width seemed normal. I selected the image and doubled the height (stretched it) and now it is about 2/3 normal.

What setting can I check?

This is all new to me, this is only the 4th item I have burned, 3 others were mugs that turned out perfect (except the one where I burned through the painters tape), apparently 10% to 15% is a big step…

Using an LS-1416 machine.

If you are engraving a flat object, and previously used a rotary tool (for mugs) the controller may still be in Rotary Mode which often changes (stretches or squashes) one axis.

The ‘Note’ at the bottom of the page is occasionally overlooked.

I checked the roatry setup, it is NOT enabled. I wonder if I need to shut down and re-start the software? Seems is what fixes many Windows issues.

I thought that I would try the PiBurn rotary again. As I was setting it up per the Boss Laser manual. The manual directed me to the a setup manual on the USB FOB that came with the Laser (LS-1416). That manual said to set the circle pulse to 4250. The previous owner has notes and calculations showing 8,000 setting and if you do the math by the dip switch settings on the DM442 (6,400) you get another circle puls number. Then on top of that there is no setting that I can find in Light Burn that is labeled “Circle Pulse”. I sent an email to Boss Laser for some direction on the settings of the Y axis dip switches on the DM442, I would imagine that if they are not right that would cause my Y axis ratio issue. The DM442 manual says that dip switches 5, 6, 7, & 8 set the pulse cycle, mine are off, on, off, & on, according to the DM442 manual that is 6,400. I will see what Boss Laser says today.

And maybe someone can tell me where the pulse cycle setting is in Light Burn, one would think it would be in the Rotary Setup window…
