Did you add limit switches to your laser? The S9 does not have them by default. If you didn’t add limit switches, you can’t use homing. Make sure to turn off “auto home at startup” in device settings.

This device has only V=Variable Spindle as an Option.

$H for homing is not successful.

This translates as:

Start

ALARM:8

Boot Error. The cycle could not clear the limit switch when extracting. Try increasing the extraction setting or checking the wiring.

The translation is unfortunate and much of the context is lost.

Please test this first:

In the console window in LightBurn please type the following:
$27=5
$H
Press Enter after each line.

Please copy and paste the results from your Console.

When the engraver moves to the Home Position it activates the switch. This seems fine. This error means that the Head of the Engraver doesn’t pull away far enough to release the switch.

$27=5 makes the pull-off 5mm. This should be more than far enough. The previous setting of 2mm is very optimistic but not impossible.

Please also confirm that all of the set screws (or Grub screws) in the belt drive sprockets are tight - with the L-Shaped wrench.

When the screws are loose, It is nearly impossible to see and this error can happen.
