Improved Air Assist and Longer Focus Length Lens

I recently added a ten gallon 2 Hp Oilless compressor to my Automation 90 Watt CO2 laser and swapped the two inch focus length lens for a 4 inch focus length lens. With a new externial regulator and solinoid valve controlled by the outlet that had controlled the large aquarium style air assist that came with the machine. My first test was with a scrap of 3/4" Maple which cut through in two passes of 45% power, 0.7 IPM and 15 Psi. My second test was with a 1/4 inch piece of hardware store plywood from a scrapped project with my old setup. 0.4 IPM and 60% power. The scrap had a large blank area after the parimiter failed to cut through in two passes from one side and I lost position trying to recut from back side. Using my new setup I cut through in two passes from one side. I am so far thrilled with the results and have a new 5 inch focus length lens I hope to try soon. I haven’t seen a lot of other people talking about experimenting with different focus length lens and looking for any suggentions on other changes or improvments using Air assist and lens.
