Incomplete Cuts Ends Not Meeting

Hi,

I’m writing because we’ve run into a problem with our laser cutter, which we’ve been using for several years now with LightBurn software and the same iMac.

Lately, the machine started doing something strange. When we make a cut, like cutting out a circle, it doesn’t fully cut through at the start of the cut. It looks fine on the surface, but the back shows that it’s not completely cutting through, especially with smaller cuts.

We’ve tried tightening the belts and cleaning the mirrors and lens, but it didn’t fix the issue. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions?

We use a Ruida Co2 laser.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

If everything is clean and the laser beam aligned correctly then it is probably time to order a new tube. The tube’s gas mix only has a limited lifespan.
One thing that also influences the effect of laser tubes is coolant, it should be replaced with new distilled or demineralized water once in a while.
