Job looks great on the right side of the bed but quality dips in the center and does not cut on the left side of the bed. Machine seems to be aligned and bed is level. Any ideas?

This is one of those cases where you must give excruciatingly detailed descriptions, because the symptoms point directly to either mirror misalignment or the focus being systematically off.
Given that it’s progressively worse from left to right, the problem lies along the gantry:
- the beam no longer enters mirror 3 properly
- the platform is tilted
Things to check:
- A test pulse at M1 makes a nice round dot with a dark center
- The beam hits the middle of all three mirrors with the laser head in all four corners
- The focus remains good in all four corners with the laser head at the same Z position
In any case, the problem will be measured in scant millimeters, so “seems to be” isn’t close enough: ask me how I know.
