Inconsistent engraving line shift in Lightburn

I’m engraving hat patches that have a border. There’s a line shift occurring in the border depending on where the image is on the grid. For example, if my image is in the upper left, when I do the Lightburn preview it shows a “shift” in the border and subsequently engraves that way. If I move the image around the grid, the preview will show different things - the shift will move to a different part or not be there at all (and it will engrave as the preview shows).

I updated Lightburn and it’s still doing this. Since this issue is showing in preview and changes depending on where I place the image, it appears to be something with Lightburn / settings, I’m just not sure what to check.

Upload pics showing the error and also your lbrn2 file so we can see if there is an error in the file.

I uploaded pictures. I opened a new file and created a new patch and it did the same thing. I opened an older different file and it did the same thing.

What is on the black layer. You didn’t upload the file like I asked so I can see if I can replicate it on my system.

It looks like the shape has been turned minimally. Change to node edit mode, hover over the baseline and press ‘a’ key. This should align the baseline perfectly flat.

Here’s the file. This is a new file I created and it does the same thing. I opened a new file, created two new rectangles, and set them to fill. The Lightburn preview will show differently depending on where this is placed on the grid (per my first pictures). I also have a video but I can’t upload a video here.

I just uploaded a file in a reply comment. I created a new file and it does the same thing. Thank you for taking time to look at this.

I just tried it on my system. It exhibits the same behavior.

Here’s the really strange part. If I add another rectangle to the screen on a different fill layer, nothing changes, but if I change the new rectangle to the same layer the problem goes away.

How are you creating the rectangles? Are you using the rectangle tool and offset or 2 separate rectangles and centering them on each other or something different?

Oh wow, I’m not happy but am happy that it’s not just me. I’ve tried it both ways - I’ve created the rectangles and also done offset - it does it on both. I’ve also converted to path and it still does it.

I don’t understand it but I made it go away by changing your Y dimension by as little as .001 on both rectangles.

Interesting. I sent an email to Lightburn support because it’s not isolated to this. I was looking at another file with a sheet full of hat patches and it has these weird spots randomly in the lettering. I’ve attached a picture - you can see little glitches in the two Vs and one A. Again, thank you for taking time to look at this. I’ll see what Lightburn says.

If I open your file with a Ruida device Preview is wrong:

.
If I change to a diode profile Preview is OK:

Interesting, thank you!
