Why is my machine cutting incorrectly. For example. I will cut something out on 3mm wood and then just on 2 or 3 spesific places it wil cut about a 1mm to 2mm double / incorrect line but only for 1 pass and the rest of passes will be correct. Also cutting the same object 2 as putting it on each other to compare, there is a differenc of 1 to 2mm. This problem isnt constant with every cut
This deserves some visuals. Can you post some photos of what you’re seeing? Also include full screenshots of LightBurn with the design loaded showing the variance from design to photo.
Cutting the same name out twice, making that error on different places on 2 names. Name is about 800 wide and 275 high
You’re dealing with unaccounted steps somewhere.
This is mostly likely a mechanical issue but may be something where the stepper motors are losing steps. Have you recently extended the size of the laser?
Do a full mechanical review of the machine putting special focus on belt tension and checking that all pulleys are properly secured with grub screws.
If the problem persists review your speed settings and make sure the steppers are not losing steps. Does slowing down significantly reduce or remove the artifacts you’re seeing?
Ok thanks will check all the above. Yes i have extended my laser from 400 to 850
It appears the error occurs at approximately the same Y position on both names. Near the centerline of the “a”. Does that sound right?
No its not on the same places. I cutted out the 1st name and saw this error, completely exit lightburn and restartes the design. On the 2nd name i turned it the other way around and made other errors on other places and different amounts of errors. Difficult to say as the error isnt consistant.
