Bed for very large fabric laser cutter

I have a home-built CNC machine (lowrider v3) with a 2500x1440 bed. I want to attach a 5W diode laser to this, in order to cut fabric (for sewing clothes). I could use some advice as to what to use as a bed for this. Considering fabric is very “floppy”, it needs to be well supported. I was thinking either a simple flat steel sheet, but off course I’ll be getting a lot of reflection that way. Or a gigantic honeycomb bed (I can buy a 2500x1250 non-expanded block of 1cm thick aluminum honeycomb…

Hello! I am starting a clothing brand and I need to cut designs out of fabric. Can a laser cutter do this? If so is there one I can get that is less than $400?

Recommendations for large cutting area Diode Laser

My neighbor has a small business where she cuts a lot of felt. Last year she cut thousands of pieces by hand. When I found out about it, I offered to use my MPCNC with a NEJE E40 (~10W) to do the work. It was a life saver for her, but I spent many hours cutting. I was able to cut through 4 layers of darker colored felt at 400-500 mm/min. She wants to invest in her own laser setup and it would be nice to get a more powerful diode laser. 1500x2000mm work area

Hey, first post here and looking for some advice. I make custom backpacks for a living and currently cutting everything by hand. Although the packs are fully custom they all have parts that are generic. So I’m looking to cut these with a laser instead to speed up my slow production. Currently doing 2 or 3 packs a week so not bulk by any means. Most of my fabric is about 1500mm wide and either nylon or polyester with some uhmwpe aswell. Nothing to thick 800d max.
