Incredibly Frustrated - Object Pattern Fill

Maybe I am missing something but it seems like it wants to work sometimes. Trying fill an object with a pattern and nothing works. I tried this in February and got some great help on here, it worked. Went back to try it again a few times and doesn’t work now.

  1. No idea why this isn’t a “closed path” it is one line of an outline. When I try to “Cut Shape” it says, “Cutting Shape must be single closed path”. It IS a single closed path. I have even selected it all and “Closed Path”

  2. When I trace the image instead and select both I don’t have the Bolean Assist option.

ALL I want to do is fill a shape with a pattern. Nothing I try seems to work. I am about to the point of asking for a refund and just getting Windows emulator and running a free program. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the top one an image or a vector? You cropped too much of the screenshot.
If it’s an image, put the shape on top and select “Apply mask to image”.

In LightBurn with nothing selected, click ‘Select open shapes’. Then click on an unused layer with a vivid color. In the Cuts/Layers settings window, temporarily turn the green layer off to see if anything was hiding under that line.

Please test the closed path with the Node Editing tool on the Left. Drag and drop the larger nodes. The start and end points where the path closes will both move together if the path is closed.

In the Node Editing tool, hover over a different node and type B to break the path making it open. Drag that point away to confirm that the node broke into two nodes. Rejoin the path by dropping the dragged node back to the additional node that was made by the break. This should rejoin automatically. Test this by dragging that node again to confirm.

It may be that the upper portion is an image or a series of images, as @misken may be suggesting. If it is, then Cut Shapes isn’t the correct tool. Group the images and apply the Mask tool.
