Interval test position

Hi, I might be crazy but I can’t find any info on this. What setting positions the interval test in the machine? I have an Xtool P2 and the interval test is some random position outside of my machines parameter. Is there a setting to change this? It’s easy in the material test but I do not see these options for interval test.
Thanks

Have you tried setting current position first?

That worked! Thank you very much

Can you elaborate on this? I have this exact issue with interval test and end up having to cut a piece to put in some arbitrary area of the bed. Seems very odd they dont bave fields for x and y position like the material test.

Change from absolute or origin to current position. then move your head to the position you want the test to start at.
I wish I would’ve known about this before, when they tell you how to set up XTool for lightburn everything says start from absolute.

All of the available start from settings should work. I use absolute coordinates and user origin, most of the time. There is also current position.

If you understand how they work it will greatly benefit your laser/cnc operations less frustration and headaches.

If you set your machine for absolute coordinates, I’d expect it to be done at this position within your workspace.

User origin - most controllers will allow you to set this or the software might allow a user origin. This is where it will always be relative to that user set origin.

Current position is just that, where ever the head is at that time the job is started.

I make jigs and will send the applicable offset to the machine. I then press Origin (Lightburn has set origin in the move window… I think). This will align the machine over the template. It will use the set position or origin.

It’s good to take a few minutes when running into operations that are confusing. When a question comes up, check the docs… search the site… ask us if need be. Just an extra couple of minuets to read the documentation really helps… Usually you will pick it up quickly. We’re always here to help clarify what’s happening…

Job origin related to origin

Make sense?

The absolute coordinates did not work with the interval test. Like David said, the actual position and the relative coordinates work with the interval test. I tried it many hours until I found the thread here. I think a hint in the documentation would be great.
