I had my job set to current position (top left corner of wood), green dot in the upper left corner, position selected was the top left dot. I had only one layer showing and set to output. I
framed my job and everything looking great. I started the job and turned my head to do something else (first mistake) I turned around and the laser head moved 13.25" to the right and started cutting. Now missing half of the item since it moved off the mark. What am I doing wrong? all my settings and start location were right and my framing was checked and looked perfect. why would it move over 13.25"?
I also noticed that I have to hit Esc on the controller after every job now before it will accept the next job I try to send.
You don’t have “Cut selected graphics” enabled so that means everything in your workspace and possibly more are eligible to be burned. Do you have anything else somewhere in your design?
What does Preview show?
Also, I’m curious why’d you’d have to hit ESC. What’s the message on the screen before you hit ESC?
I thought if ‘cut selected graphics’ was not selected it would cut any layers that were set to ‘output’. That is how I prefer to work. Here I had only one layer selected, it started cutting the correct layer but 13.25" to the right.
As for Esc, the rudia is not clearing the screen on the control panel after the job and what just cut is still there. I have to hit Esc to clear it before it will let me send another job. Light burn gives the error of errror sending file
you are right on the cut selected graphics. But, if there is anything else on that layer it could move what you what you want to cut.
Go to edit, select all, then click zoom to frame selection. That will show you if there is anything hiding somewhere outside what you want.
For the issue with having to press ESC, I’m wondering if you have exhausted the storage available on the controller. Take a look through the files list and see if you have a lot of files. Remove some and see if that alleviates things.
Not that, the image was a flag. So the entire left corner of the flag (stars) was started 13.25” to the right. I’ve several of these and there is nothing else in that layer.
I don’t actually see anything wrong with the panel that would require hitting ESC. It wouldn’t even occur to me to hit ESC at that point. This looks just like the screen I would normally see after a job.
I’m wondering if you’re having some communication issues with the controller or perhaps the controller is acting up.
