If you are connecting directly to your controller with the USB-ethernet adapter you will need a cross over cable and not a standard ethernet.
Apparently, need to order one.
Only if the ethernet adapter is 10/100. If it is gigabit, the spec stipulates auto MDI-X. Even if it is connecting to another 10/100 host.
Replaced the driver, talked to support. They had me connect to the modem and the device is working fine, so this is a problem with the laser side. Appreciate all the helpers.
