Is the old version 1.4 "pro"? - an update question

UPDTE EDIT So if like me you had let updates expire (2023) on your old 1.2/1.4 version for Ruida controllers, this version would be considered the newer “pro” naming convention. - SO if you want V2, No need to buy a new license, nor an upgrade, simple choose the cheapest “renew updates for one year” - note that if you owned the old version of the “GCoDE” version, you still need to upgrade in order to use Ruida or Galvo. Extra note, you need to run updates twice from the software - first to 1.7, restart, then check again to get V2.

I bought LightBurn 3 or 4 years ago, when the choice was - license for a Ruida based controller, or license for Gcode machines.
I see the licensing is different now, with a core and a pro version, and upgrades on the website mention having “core”, nothing mentioning upgrading or renewing older versions.
I run the Ruida license with my CO2 machine, and no longer update since two years, I’m at 1.4. So to my question, is this old version now classed as the pro version? I will buy a Fiber laser, do I simply need to use the 'renew lightburn updates for one year" to my 1.4 license to get the latest version 2 and open up the fiber laser controls and settings, or do I need to both to renew and upgrade? thanks.

Hello Wells

The simplest way to see which license you have - now called Core or Pro - is to navigate to Help - > License Management

On Newer versions of Lightburn - the License Type is also stated.
However on 1.4 you can define your license by Allowed Devices.

If Gcode = LightBurn Core

If Gcode, DSP, Galvo = LightBurn Pro
