Is there a way change or re-orient the galvo mirrors to point to a different field area on the bed, to be the center for my Monport GA 100W galvo fiber laser? I am using a MacBook Pro and Lightburn 1.7.01.
My newly purchased laser is able to etch but just points to the left side, instead of directly under the lens. And so, even though all the lens correction value are correct, there is a noticeable curve to things and the whole work area is to the left side of the bed.
This seems incorrect but being new, maybe I am missing something.
The 9 point galvo lens correction in Lightburn won’t burn the complete box because it points so far to the left side as you can see in the photo of the brown card with part of the 9 point galvo correction. Here is also a video showing a centered test page. As you can see, it is to the left side of the work bed, not directly perpendicular under the lens.
It doesn’t shoot straight down like all pics and videos show.
Again, my tests and etchings have a curved looked to them, I think because of this off-center angle of galvo mirrors pointing at an angle through the lens, instead of straight down.
I am hoping there is a way to tell the galvo mirrors to point or re-orient to the middle of the work bed.
I have checked the level of the bed and have reversed the values of each galvo which slightly changed the shape of the box and test but… the everall location is still on the left side and is the same.
I was hoping there was a way to just tell the mirrors to point or be adjusted to the right in software to be more centered coming out of the lens.
The problem is, it will not burn the edges of the correct size box to even measure for correction. And the problem is, the entire box is burning on the left side… regardless of the shape of the box. The lens correction fixes the shape a bit… but not the location on the left side of the bed. It’s not shooting straight down. So the entire image is curved to the left and lens correction doesn’t fix since it’s coming out of the left side of the lens. If I could tell the mirrors to point toward the center, then I could deal with the shape. Am I making any sense?
