Is there a way to fade the edges of an image? I would like it to appear to gradually fade instead of an abrupt line

I am attempting to engrave an image on a tree stand. I would like the edges to softly end and not have a abrupt line. Is it possible to have that occur with lightburn or is that something I have to try to accomplish with another type of software?

No, not in LB. Outside processing software, probably.

There might be some tricks with acceleration etc. But I think you should just edit the image in an image editor to have faded edges and then burn it. Will give much more consistent output.

If you are Windows, the Image Viewer will viginette images.

I think Gimp image editor should be able to handle it.

It’s called the ‘Feathering command’ and also ‘Gradiant Fill’ will work. You choose over what distance you’d like the effect to happen. If you also place a different shape around the image you can fade out to that shape.
