Is there a way to highlight text inside a shaded area?

Hi All, I am back with another question about images. First the image I am working with is terrible and I cannot find a better quality image anywhere - I may have to get someone to re-create it for us if I can’t make this work. With that as a starting point (yes I know not the best place to work from) I am trying to create a logo in SLATE and I will show you some examples:
The original image

This is what I am working with in lightburn
seal.lbrn (1.6 MB)
This was one of the outputs I got (on left side) which is terrible so I decided to try to modify it to what is on right side

The right side is just ok but I would like to be able to read the text in the border and not sure just how to do that … can someone point me in the right direction? I exported this image from a pdf file at 600dpi but not doing well beyond that …

Put the text on the same layer as the rest of the design. If you do that the overlapping portions of the design will become inverted and allow you to see the text.

Hi Berainlb, That is the image on the right of the two together …Maybe I need to make the characters bigger?? The do not show up well at all

From what I saw in the .lbrn file the text and background were on different layers. So what’s happening is that they’re basically overlapping burns. That’s what the right side image burn looks like to me.

You can see this in the Preview. By putting the text on the same layer you’ll not burn the areas where the text resides.

Thanks for the responses, much appreciated!
