Is this a Lightburn issue or a hardware issue?

I finally put together my new Longer B1 30w on Saturday. Tested it out and everything seemed to work great. On Sunday i was using the new rotary, everything working well when i told it to frame- the laser took off, slammed into the right rail and ground away as i was diving for the stop button. Since then ive re-set everything i can thknk of and most functions work but it will not frame. Lightburn says its framing but the laser does not move.

Any ideas? Should i just return it or is it a software issue that can be fixed?

In most cases, it’s a settings issue. Does it still home? Do you get any messages in the console window?

I just got some time to play with it some more. It does home and move and start but when I try and home under absolute coordinates it gives two error messages

“At or near line zero”

And

G-code motion target exceeds machine travel.

The object I’m trying to frame is small and in the center of the field. How can it exceed machine travel?

This doesn’t work this way. Homing is a firmware function. You just tell the laser to home. It’s fully independent of the coordinate system setting.

So, homing works. After homing, check the move window and click on get position. What position is reported? Additionally, show your device settings window.

Anyhow, incorrect settings like insane speeds combined with overscan can also cause the machine to go out of the workspace. Show the full LB window as well.

After homing the move window shows coordinates of 0,0.

Heres a picture of my device settings and what it looks like when i try to frame.

Disable DTR, power cycle the laser (power and USB) wait 30 seconds and try.
Also the laser have something that triggered a check.

.
Akso disable scanning offset you don’t have any values there.

Disable continuous framing as well. Then you will have more control to test it. Turn on laser on when framing and set a percentage. Turn off return to finish position. Diable auto home at startup. All those functions will lead to unforeseen movements. You can turn them back on if you really need it.

Thank you very much for your help, everything is working very well now!
